Ray, The Cowboy, is a Campfire Companion for the Traveler. He is cowboy wanderer at odds with the expansion of civilization across the West.

Ray frequently asks for funny and adventurous stories and is first encounterable outside of Denver, CO. His story is written by Jolie Menzel, and he is voiced by David Jennison.

Background[ | ]

Ray, full name Raymond Edward Dawson, is originally from Chicago, Illinois. As a child, his father often threatened to send Ray to his uncle Eddy's ranch in White Sands, New Mexico. When Ray's father passed away due to his heavy drinking, Ray moved out to Eddy's ranch and fell into the cowboy lifestyle. After Eddy passed away, the ranch was seized by the U.S. government for atomic bomb testing.

Ray currently roams the country with his horse Poncho. looking for available ranch work.

By Chapter 3, Ray has become an outlaw known as "Riotin' Ray" and goes by Will to conceal his identity. He travels with a new horse named Ghost due to Poncho being killed during Ray's first arrest. He is attempting to flee to Mexico.

Interactions with the Player[ | ]

Ray can originally be found outside of Denver, CO, and travels around in the [TBA]. He mainly asks for [TBA] from the Traveler. Upon reaching Chapter 3 with him, he gives you a Horse Bone Flute that teleports you back to Denver.

True Form[ | ]

His true form is an ash-coated cowboy tied up in barbed wire accompanied by a skeleton horse that exudes clouds of smoke from its eye sockets.
